EPC (Educators in Performance and Communication NZ)

EPC (pronounced "Epic") is a professional body set up to support, develop and approved teachers in performance and communication in New Zealand. No matter what syllabus you teach – Speech NZ, Trinity College, NCEA – you can join our community. Approved educators receive basic technical support, discounts to our many workshops, regular newsletters, shared resources and the platform to connect with other likeminded individuals.

EPC regularly host workshops for members and non-members throughout the year. Invited speakers and workshop hosts vary from award-winning authors, playwrights, vocal coaches, poets, theatre producers, film directors, illustrators and more.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

This hands on workshop is an opportunity for performance and oral communication educators to come together network and share resources, techniques, activities or approaches they find most beneficial in their practice with one another.

Bring a hot drink, your burning questions and resources you love, and connect with other like-minded individuals in an informal and supportive online setting!

This event is free for EPC approved teacher and half price for EPC subscribers. But we welcome all educators. If you are not part of EPC, you can still join. Tickets are $20.

EPC (pronounced "Epic") is a professional body set up to support, develop and register approved educators in performance and communication in New Zealand.

With a vision to grow the sector and build strong bicultural relationships between all those involved, EPC is managed by a volunteer committee who work to give support and encourage the community of performance and communication educators throughout the country.

As a professional body, there are three levels by which educators can be connected with EPC.

  • Those wishing to become recognised as Approved Teachers need to apply and meet a set of criteria, after which they may put "EPC Approved Teacher" after their name. Benefits of becoming an Approved Teacher include workshops, technical support, resource sharing, newsletters and an annual in-person professional development seminar.
  • Those wishing to become a Subscriber of EPC will enjoy the benefits of the newsletter and discounted access to workshops.
  • Those wishing to be connected with EPC as a Friend will receive the newsletter, which will alert them of any upcoming workshops they may wish to pay to attend.
