Public Speaking & Communication

 Candidates will

• Develop versatility and confidence in the use of language
   
  
• Increase their ability to express thoughts and opinions with clarity
   
  
• Improve listening skills
   
  
• Extend social skills
   
  
• Speak audibly with clarity and vitality

 Examinations assess candidates'

• Competence in the basic skills of Public Speaking and Communication
   
  
• Ability to structure and present speeches appropriate to an audience, purpose and occasion
   
  
• Capacity to listen, think and respond with courtesy and appropriate vocabulary
   
  
• Conversational ability
   
  
• Discriminatory powers and sense of responsibility as public speakers

 The Syllabus -

• Has nine levels - Initial to Grade Eight
   
  
• Is suitable for candidates from about seven years upwards
   
  
• Encourages group examinations
   
  
• Provides for certificates to be issued to all successful candidates
   
  
• Provides prescriptions for Diplomas and Fellowships, which are available for those seeking professional and teaching qualifications
